The Toddler Program is focused on encouraging children through the early stages of life. Our main focus for toddlers is increased large and small motor development, cognitive development, language and speech, and social emotional relationships.
Daily outings to local parks, the library and playgrounds for fresh air and exploration are a regular part of there day. the toddlers in our program are read to several times through out the day and are engaged in play that enhances there cognitive, social-emotional and motor skills. If a child shows signs of potty training readiness, staff are trained to assist parents in the potty training process.
All children are encouraged to be independent and the childcare environment is structured so that they may explore and play in safety. Parents are encouraged to spend time in the daycare environment with there child to better understand and experience the way there child plays and learns. The Baby Play Place has an open door policy and welcomes parents to visit throughout the day.
Children enrolled in our pre-school class will be prepared for entering pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first grade. We offer a nationally recognized Family Childcare Curriculum that integrates learning into our daily schedule. Additional academic lessons are taught in a no pressure environment through games, stories and arts and crafts.
Our daily group time consists of songs, fingerplays, stories, art projects, and games that incorporate math, reading, writing, and phonics into fun activities that assist in the development of school readiness skills.
Children in this group are also assisted in independent basic skills such as pouring a cup of water/milk, cleaning up after themselves, toileting skills and early problem solving skills.
