A big part of our curricullum is healthy eating.

We participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Our meals are monitored and regulated based on National Nutrition Standards for Children.

We serve children meals based on proper child portions and offer several vegetables and fruits at meal times.

During the summer months we offer frozen treats that we make using fruits and vegetables.

We offer children water throughout the day and very rarely is fruit juice given.

We NEVER offer the children artificial juices, sodas or other artificially sweetened beverages.

As per CACFP regulations cows milk is offered at all meals. Whole milk for children under the age of 2 years and 1% for children 2 years an older.

*Parents may bring alternate milk options if their child is on a special diet. A doctors note may be required.

The children often assist with meals and snacks. We like to foster independence and being a good friend neighbor and helper. The children love to help make new and interesting foods as well as old favorites.

(Please note: children are not allowed into the kitchen and assist in food preparation, and serving only.)
